A compilation engagement aims to assist the management in presenting financial data in the form of financial statements.  Compilation engagements do not provide any type of assurance that the statements have conformed to any specific accounting framework.

Compilations require the accountant to gain knowledge of the business and client including the financial accounting systems used and to prepare the financial information as financial statements.  Compilation engagements do not require the accountant to provide an opinion on the accuracy of the statements presented.
